"Avocado and a Fried Egg."

Dancing is surely the most basic and relevant of all forms of expression. Nothing else can so effectively give outward form to an inner experience. Poetry and music exist in time. Painting and architecture are a part of space. But only the dance lives at once in both space and time. In it the creator, and the thing created, the artist and the expression, are one. Each participates completely in the other. There could be no better metaphor for an understanding of the mechanics of the cosmos.” Lyall Watson, Gifts of Unknown Things: A True Story of Nature, Healing, and Initiation from Indonesia's Dancing Island

I saw this quote riding the social media wave. It inspired me to think of a special time, when I truly felt one with the music, in space, in time, and in myself. It could be described as a sensual moment, tickling the nerves that bring ecstasy to us as creative artists. It is the inside out, a "inner experience." It is perfect.

I was lucky enough to find a capture of that time. Taken by my dearest best friend Becky. This was a live production show, the song was Bir Demet and performed by the musicians Majda Anwar, August Hoerr, Darbuka Dave and James Taylor reel III.

I found myself to be re centered and renewed in my art, and my practice when I reflected. I’d like to invite you to re-experience a special moment, a time to remember a time you felt most connected and in love with (y)our craft. You don't need a picture, a memory will work. A reminder of this special art.

Music and Dance is truly a magical gift isn't it? It is like Avocado and a fried egg. ;)
